Brief Update

You guys, I gots no idea when I will have regular online time again. Most of my time on the pc these days is spent occasionally checking our bank accts and paying bills!! I don't even have time to read the news - I have to depend on James or NewsChannel 8 for the daily local low-down. (Yes, I actually used his name on the site. lol)

But my time away from the pc is in great part due to good news. Probably the best news with the greatest impact on my abilities to keep up with my friends: I got promoted to Assistant Director - Retail. Hurrah! How awesome is that -- less than a year after I dumped the corporate life and effectively gave up a desk-side life trajectory, I am further up the hierarchical chain in another industry than I could have climbed to in another five years in an office. Kick ass.

Not only that, but I still LOVE MY JOB. It's hard work, no kidding -- and the pay is far less than I was making at the bottom of the totem-pole in desk-land. But ultimately for me, far more rewarding. And I've just been thrown head-first into a new role that promises to teach me so much about what I want to do later as the owner of a similar establishment. Right now I'm working on lessons #1 & 2: time management when everyone's pulling you in all directions and you can't find 5 minutes to yourself to work on administrative paperwork *chuckle* & management of peers who are (literally) 40-50 years older, who've been there 40 years. Most of them are gorgeous people inside and out! A few of them are... less amenable to my presence. I challenge I look forward to learning how to work through.

Otherwise... in our off hours, James and I are working on some big future plans, some of which I'm not sure how detailed I should discuss here. Suffice it to say that at some point in the future, we're starting our own business (one that will help me to afford the starting of my pet business, and allow him to write at least 20 hours a week). We have a lot of work to do, so we have less and less free time. But we are not cut off from the greatness that is the world!!! We just have to plan ahead. And my friends, you can be certain, I really really miss you guys and want to hang out sometime soon!!!! Dammit!!! *laughs* Call me!!!!
