The video below is fascinating, facinating. Mercola.com thinks this little movie is terribly frightening - see his blog post on it. I've known some of this info for several years, and I know that it's just history progressing. Many of my friends already know that I don't consider it a crisis if the US is no longer the world's foremost nation in the newar future - because guess what, we're not, in part for the reasons mentioned in the video below. And in another example, I myself have held 8 distinct jobs since I graduated from college, and I'm only 29. But then, if we get into that, we'd have to start discussing how long-term job loyalty makes far less sense for my generation (and those behind me) because the pay raises and pension plans just aren't there, or won't be by the time we need them.

Dude:
Amen! Amen to your final sentence of this blog posting.
I myself have had to jump jobs FOUR TIMES in the same industry because of either external situation, bad decisions by employers or simply because I wouldn't get a promotion to the next level of responsbility or even adequate salary TO LIVE if I didn't jump.
Everyone's doing it. And Old-School Employers hate it and one of them gave me such a bitchy time about it during the interview with her that even though they invited me back for the second interview, I declined because:
1. I didn't want to work for a bitch
2. I didn't want to work for an UNENLIGHTENED company that is struggling to cope with what is reality.
And I have no qualms about jumping again if it gets me to where I'm going to because that's pretty much the only way our generation and younger are going to get anywhere these days (esp those of us who hate corporate hierarchies).
Seriously!!! Turnover is high, but employers seem to count on that now. They grumble about not being able to retain people, but do nothing about it, and are forced to pay more for the next person who comes along, or else scam new recruits like CEB did me. So silly!
Dude:
We should do matching blog posts on our respective blogs discussing this. Seriously. I think it merits discussion.
