A May Update

Sorry I've not been online in so long.

I'm working hard today to get my inbox down to 200 unread old e-mails (it's taking forever!!) I might not meet that goal I'm still at 252 now, and have been, it seems, forever. I'm deleting huge swaths of old e-mails I have already read and don't need, that don't take down my total unread -- and after 2-3 hours of this, I'm only back to February. Gah! LOL

Here is a "quick" update on life:

• Last week, we sold our car, for various reasons. But now we are living closer to the green lifestyle we ultimately imagine for ourselves (especially me! It's a life's goal to be as green as possible, within reason.)


• James brings home his new bike today. We both have bikes! Whoo hoo!
  
• We'll be getting a zipcar/flexcar membership soon.


• Crunch time at work: more customers, longer hours coming up, and fewer workers, as many of our ladies go away for the summer, or on vacation. Gah! And James is super busy too.


• We have become personal chefs! My Mom has hired us to fix her dinner on week nights. This will be challenging this summer given our schedules - but it allows us to get lots of practice cooking healthy, whole food, gives us a little extra $, and helps my Mom to be healthier (and therefore happier). =)


• We're cleaning out our stuff and simplifying our lives!! Other than the car, we've gotten rid of a ton of stuff, and have a pile in the living room yet to donate/freecycle/craigslist. Soon, soon!


• We're still managing to get together with friends at least once a week. We have a lot of them! Spread out! This coming weekend, it's Vintage Virginia, and then Tuesday we're going to a baseball game as both part of a bachelor party of sorts for one friend, and a college reunion of sorts with totally different friends. lol!!!

I feel like I'm forgetting something important here... Ah, yes!!! We've decided to try to stay in Arlington as long as possible. Despite the outrageous cost (even more outrageous for artists, vagrants, and cube-haters like us,) we've decided to try to stay. Arlington has everything we want except decent summer temperatures and less humidity. Making it work... that will be the challenge.

And after deleting a TON more messages, I'm only down to 242. It's about time to give it up for today! Talk to you all soon!!!
