Just a quick post-PA update, a few days late. Except for allergies, I was pretty well in Erie.
The Shopping Begins (Kinda)
My wonderful in-laws treated us to a shopping trip to Babies-R-Us, and got us the first of the many many linens we'll need for baby's sleeping quarters. Since we didn't know the gender yet, we got a bit of bedding in two matching sets of gender-neutral-blue, both with stars, one with sheepies (I love sheepies!!!)
And we got the first 12 of a BILLION diapers, and I'm so grateful ---- they're organic cotton. Hurray!!! Organic!!! I am really, really appreciative of that, they are not the least expensive option and the benefit is more to our environment than the kid. But seriously, every little bit helps, I truly believe that.
...So, if our baby were to magically appear full grown and outside the womb today, we could take care of it for like a whole 8 hours. LOL!!! Well, except for formula. Baby would just have to starve. ;)
We also looked at convertible cribs, which was an adventure in itself! Especially since when we mentioned we wanted to look at "4-in-One" cribs (i.e. turns into toddler bed(s), full bed), Dad thought we were saying "Foreign ones". Haha!
Reluctant to Buy
The shopping trip was, well, trippy. All four of us were kind of walking around in a half daze, dazzled by the options, the upcoming needs, and the experience of it all. The E.P. and I have been holding off on purchasing much of anything until after the 20-week sonogram, and knowledge of the gender. Unfortunately I think this squelched Mom & Dad's initial enthusiasm for the trip, but it couldn't be helped.
