Dear God: Wow, That Was Fast!

Holy cow! Pretty amazing stuff. You've all seen my post down there about the house and how I wish I had a quality stereo in my bedroom -- which is something I've had since I was 6 years old, until we moved into the current apartment. I haven't done anything about it because we have a clock/radio/CD player we got for our wedding in the bedroom (off our registry, no less), and though the quality is poor, I didn't see buying a second radio as a justifiable expense.

Just by finally saying it and getting it out, I got it! As "Anonymus" suggested (Thanks!) I was about to go onto Freecycle and Craigslist -- but didn't have to. On the way home last night, my kind carpooling co-worker told me that she had a stereo in the trunk, "nothing wrong with it," that needed a new home. CD player and radio with dual tape deck, equalizer, and detachable speakers. A few outer nicks and scrapes, but it all works.

"Can I have it?"
"Of course!!!"
So I hauled it upstairs and plugged it in.

Last evening was bliss as I lay on the bed in the dark ala 1983-2005, listening to DC101. Extra cool was that they didn't play a terrible song the whole time. Most of my life, the thing I would do first anywhere I went was plug in the boom box, and then I was home. Ah!! Last night was like taking a dip in cool water. =)

In case you're wondering, if I didn't blog it before, my old boombox is in the kitchen, to cheer me while I cook. =) Now my status quo home style is returned to me: I can listen to the same FM station in every room of the house! Moving through rooms after room with uninterrupted sound! Happiness!

Thank you my friend and co-worker! I have to do something very nice for her soon. =)

We just got an iPod dock for the bedroom. I love it. I can have Enya for the sleepytime and something fun for tub playtime with the tiny one. Right now she's digging Avril Lavigne.
